Apple's Games for (RED) sees millions of Best Fiends and Episode players raise money to fight AIDS

Developers that took part in Apple's Games for (RED) campaign have revealed the results of their participation in the charity event.

Finnish studio Seriously saw six million sessions of (RED)-related content played during the campaign with 1.5 million hours clocked across both games. 500,000 players also finished a Red Heart Challenge in the original Best Fiends game.

Seriously brought in singer Justin Bieber to promote the campaign, with his Twitter videos promoting the games gathering 129,000 likes and 62,000 retweets combined.

Mean girls and dragons

Episode developer Pocket Gems meanwhile saw 12,500 views of its Demi Lovato and Mean Girls (RED)-themed chapters combined. It also saw 24,667 users in its game War Dragons purchase a (RED)-specific pack to hatch a limited-edition dragon for the event.

Apple's Games for (RED) campaign ran from November 30th to December 6th. Proceeds from (RED)-themed packs went directly to the charity itself to raise money to eradicate AIDS.

Rovio is another company that took part in the event, with updates to both Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds POP. 14 other games were included in the charity event.
