MobilityWare picks up casual developer Critical Hit Software for its Jigsaw Puzzle and ColorArt titles

Casual game studio MobilityWare has acquired developer and publisher Critical Hit Software for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition sees MobilityWare gain the rights to Critical Hit's Jigsaw Puzzle and adult colouring book app ColorArt.

The former is claimed to be the most searched for jigsaw game on Apple's App Store.

Long-term growth plan

"Acquisitions are core to our long-term growth plan. Given the nature and audience of their games, Critical Hit Software was an ideal fit," said Jeff Erle, CEO of MobilityWare.

"There is significant audience cross-over between all of our games, which we believe will yield significant benefits in terms of marketing and cross-promotion."

MobilityWare itself has seen over 200 million downloads of its version of Solitaire on mobile. Most recently it changed its retention and segmentation strategy and saw IAP sales increase 400% for its game Blackjack Free.
