VR eSports developer Drifter Entertainment closes $2.25 million seed funding round

Seattle-based VR eSports developer Drifter Entertainment has raised $2.25 million in its seed funding round.

Investment was led by Signia Venture Partners, which has previously invested in Super Evil Megacorp. Signia partner Sunny Dhillon will join Drifter's board as part of the investment.

Further investment came from Initialized Capital, Presence Capital, The VR Fund, Pathbreaker Ventures and Anorak Ventures.

Thrilled and humbled

"We're thrilled and humbled by the support we've received from our investors, both financial and otherwise," said Drifter's Ray Davis.

"We feel incredibly lucky to have found the right partners that not only want us to succeed, but clearly understand our vision for the future of VR gaming."

Drifter was established in October 2016 with the goal of creating VR games with a strong eSports component and is currently hiring for a number of unspecified roles.
