Show me the money!

The Show Me the Money track, hosted by Strike Gamelabs Commercial Director Ella Romanos, consists of six sessions dedicated to mobile games industry experts dealing out key advice on exactly where to get investment and how.

The introductory keynote is hosted by Execution Labs Co-Founder and Business Chief Keith Katz, and is entitled ‘Why Investors Say “No” To Game Studios When They Come Asking For Investment’.

Katz will aim to make studios better prepared when seeking funds in a session that will also touch upon the differences between equity investors and publishers.

Later, British Film Institute certification analysts Julia Brown and Colm Seeley will host a session entitled ‘UK Tax Relief – Can I get it?’, and will run through the options available to UK developers.

There will also be a panel session called ‘We Would Rather Make VR But Guess What – We Are Still Funding Mobile Games’. Expert panellists include Cloudcade Canada COO Johan Eile, Affiniti Ventures Managing Partner LK Shelley, CV Capital Senior Advisor, Mobile & Gaming Jim Ying, Rovio Senior Publishing Manager Matthew Wilson and Gree SVP of Business & Corporate Development Shanti Bergel.

Other sessions include ‘The Current M&A Market For Games & Predictions For 2017’, ‘Dynamic Pricing - Opportunities & Pitfalls’ and a talk by Animoca Brands CEO Robby Yung on mergers and acquisitions in the games industry.
