CSR Racing 2 to be the first non-EA mobile game to feature Porsche cars

CSR Racing 2 will be the first non-EA mobile game to use the Porsche license following the conclusion of the publishers exclusivity deal.

NaturalMotion GM Julian Widdows announced the partnership at Pocket Gamer Connects London 2017. He showed a brief video showing off the first Porsche car in the game's engine.

First out the gate

The deal originated back in 2000 and has run ever since. The deal eventually ran out at the end of 2016 with Porsche saying that "the current situation is no longer desirable for both sides."

Developers had previously got around the exclusivity issue by using RUF-customised models, which are not covered under the same agreement.

EA most recently used the license on mobile in February 2015. It added a Cayman GT4 to its title Real Racing 3 ahead of the car's real-world release.
