Resolution Games' Gear VR fishing game Bait!has surpassed one million downloads since first launching in March 2016.

It previously passed 700,000 downloads in August 2016. It has therefore amassed around 300,000 more downloads in five months, approximately 60,000 a month.

Samsung confirmed on January 5th 2017 that five million Gear VR devices were in use around the world. This means that Bait! has been installed on around 20% of all Gear VR devices.

Following its success on Gear VR, the game has today launched on Google Daydream, which will give it an opportunity to catch even more players. SuperData Research estimated that the Daydream had sold 261,000 units by the end of 2016.

"We are so excited to see the initial interest in Bait! as it crests one million players," said Tommy Palm, CEO and co-founder of Resolution Games.

"And, we now look forward to making the game available for the growing audience on Daydream, while adding the ability to use the motion controller for casting and reeling in fish, which adds a whole new layer to the game’s immersion within VR."
