InnoGames hires ex-Goodgame Art Director Rick Schmitz as Team Lead Artist

Hamburg-based developed InnoGames has hired former Goodgame Studios Art Director Rick Schmitz as its new Team Lead Artist.

Schmitz will be leading the art team on a currently unannounced mobile-only game with the studio. No other details of the title are currently known.

Schmitz has been an artist in the games industry for almost 25 years, starting out at BlueSky Software as a Lead Artist on Sega Genesis games. He has since held senior roles at Turbine, PopCap, Vivendi and most recently at Goodgame Studios.

Terrific and experienced team

"I'm pleased to announce that I've started my new position as Team Lead Artist at Innogames right here in Hamburg!" wrote Schmitz in a post on LinkedIn.

"I'm on a great project with a terrific and experienced team. I would like to thank my wife and all my friends for their support during my job search."

InnoGames has shifted its focus to mobile-only titles in recent years and has seen a strong increase in revenue because of it. It most recently picked up the Warlords IP from Wooga, which it plans to maintain for years to come.
