All signs point to it being MZ's promised title

Square Enix soft-launches Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire mobile game likely developed by MZ

Square Enix has soft-launched a mobile strategy take on its blockbuster console game Final Fantasy XV called Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire.

While not explicitly stated, it appears to be the result of Square Enix's partnership with Game of War developer MZ that was first announced back in November 2016.

For one, A New Empire looks and sounds a lot like previous MZ games. It is a strategy title that focuses on building large armies and forming Guilds, and boasts a "powerful chat and translation system" similar to that of Game of War and Mobile Strike.

Same MO, same building

The developer listed for the game is Epic Action LLC, which has no other games released. The company is based in the same office building in Palo Alto as MZ.

MZ is no stranger to starting new companies to launch its games. Mobile Strike was launched by Epic War LLC, despite being an MZ-developed game.

MZ also stated back when the game was announced that it would be made by a new studio.

While all the evidence points to this being an MZ game, the company has not formally acknowledged that it is developing the title. It is instead publicly focusing on the launch of its massive data platform Satori.

Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire is currently available on Android and iOS in Australia and New Zealand. It is unknown when the game will receive a global launch.
