Clash of Clans is currently enjoying its longest streak at the top of the US iOS grossing charts since February 2016 following a major game update.
Supercell recently added a wealth of new content to the game via a free update in May 2017. It added a new island, Builder Base, as well as 1v1 PvP battles, new units, abilities, buildings and more.
The effect on the game's grossing rank was immediate, with it shooting up to number one on May 22nd. It stayed there until May 26th, when it dropped to second, and lingered in lower spots until returning to first place on May 29th.
Still the king
Clash of Clans has now been the top grossing overall app on the iPhone charts in the US for nine days. This is its longest streak at the top since February 2016.
Despite not hitting the top spot for over a month, Clash of Clans is still a very strong performer. It has dropped out of the top ten of the grossing ranks just once in the last year.
Overall revenues are still incredibly high too. It generated the third-highest revenue of any mobile game in April 2017, and the fifth-highest in March 2017.
