UK developer Sumo acquires design studio Atomhawk

UK developer Sumo Digital has acquired art and design studio Atomhawk for an undisclosed fee.

Gateshead-based Atomhawk offers services to developers on concept art and production design, UI/UX design, marketing art and motion graphics.

Multi-platform experience

The company has worked on various projects across PC, console, virtual reality, mobile and film, including Sprit Lords, Top Eleven and Eve Valkyrie.

Its work in movies includes Avengers: Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: The Dark World.
Atomhawk will continue to operate independently following the deal.

“This investment and strategic support enables us to realise our ambitions to drive Atomhawk forward – expanding the creative services we offer and the imminent opening of a second studio in North America, said Atomhawk MD Cumron Ashtiani (pictured main, right with Sumo CEO Carl Cavers, left).

Sumo Digital has studios based in Sheffield and Nottingham, and has worked on titles such as Snake Pass, LittleBigPlanet 3 and Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed.
