Keywords Studios acquires four Paris-based localisation studios for $8.9 million

Keywords Studios is continuing to buy up everything it can by acquiring four Paris-based localisation studios for up to $8.9 million (€7.6 million).

The studios that have been picked up are La Marque Rose, Dune Sound, Around the Word, and Asrec. The deal is made up of a €6.6 million upfront payment, with an additional €1 million if certain targets are met.

The studios will be folded into Keyword's Parisian recording studio, formed when the company acquired Synthesis in April 2016. Keywords will be investing an additional €1 million into upgrading the studio to accommodate the new companies.

Unstoppable

"These acquisitions are an important milestone in the development of our Localisation and Audio Services business lines in Europe," said Fulvio Sioli, European Managing Director of Keywords Studios.

"The consolidation of these businesses gives us the combined scale to support investment in new, state of the art recording facilities which will ensure that we can service the growing demand for French audio and localisation services, with the high level of quality our customers expect, for many years to come."

Keywords has made a name for itself through the sheer number of acquisitions it makes on a regular basis. Its aggressive consolidation strategy appears to be working, however – it mostly recently posted revenues of $74.7 million for the first half of its FY17, an increase of 50% year-on-year.
