$1 million Clash Royale Crown Championship attracts more than 27 million participants

Supercell's Crown Championship 20 Win Challenge for Clash Royale attracted 27.4 million players.

The global $1 million Crown Championship tournament aims to find the greatest Clash Royale player in the world, with users from 187 countries taking part in the competition.

The first two phases of the eSports competition have now been completed, whittling the number of players down from 27.4 million participants to 9,989.

Regional clashes

The top represented countries were China and USA, with 1,140 and 1,028 players qualifying from each country respectively. 821 players in Japan also qualified, while 623 made it through from Mexico and 594 made the cut from Spain.

These contestants have now qualified for phase three, which takes place between September 5th and 7th.

In the third phase, qualified players in each region will play in a regional Elimination Week, whittling down the pool of players even further. with the best players from here competing in the regional Fall Finals on November 11th to 12th.

Champions from each region will their automatically claim the first spot to represent their region in the live-streamed World Finals held in London in December.

The Global prize pool for the competition is worth more than $1 million.
