Glu Mobile has licensed its Deer Hunter franchise to GameMill Entertainment for a new console game.

Deer Hunter Reloaded will be a first-person shooter focused on tracking and hunting animals in the wild. It is the first time Glu has been involved in a console release.

GameMill is best known for its licensed console games such as Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers as well as an adaptation of the Big Buck Hunter arcade games. It also developed mobile title Rapala Daily Catch.

Going in for the kill

Glu is very protective of its Deer Hunter franchise – it sued Hothead Games for its game Kill Shot back in 2014, as it allegedly ripped off Deer Hunter 2014. The case was later settled in April 2015.

The developer is now focusing on Design Home, which it picked up when it acquired Crowdstar in November 2016. The game now has over one million DAUs and has generated $41.4 million in bookings in under a year.
