Top grossing games remain largely the same

Worldwide mobile games market grew by 13% in August 2017

The mobile games market grew by 13% during August 2017 while the worldwide digital games market overall grew 11%.

This is based on SuperData Research's monthly Worldwide Digital Games Market report, which has studied the top grossing games of August 2017.

In terms of the top ten grossing mobile games, there is little change to the charts from July 2017. The top three games remain exactly the same – Honor of Kings, Fantasy Westward Journey, and Lineage M.

No surprises

The top ten highest grossing games worldwide in August 2017 were:

  1. Honor of Kings
  2. Fantasy Westward Journey
  3. Lineage M
  4. Clash of Clans
  5. Pokemon GO
  6. Monster Strike
  7. Clash Royale
  8. Dragon Chronicles
  9. Candy Crush Saga
  10. Fate/Grand Order

The only real change from July 2017 is NetEase's Ghost Story dropping out of the rankings altogether. It is replaced by returning high-grosser Fate/Grand Order.

Fate/Grand Order was the tenth-highest grossing game of the first half of 2017, according to SuperData Research. It continues to perform in Japan, though its Western release has not fared quite as well.
