Blizzard developing new MMO RTS for mobile

Hearthstonedeveloper Blizzard is working on a new MMO RTS for mobile, according to a new job listing.

Spotted by PCGamesN, the company has posted a number of job listings for a new unannounced project.

Crafting a new experience

Current job vacancies for the title only describe it as a “new gaming experience for mobile”. A previous listing for a Senior Client Engineer, as saved on NeoGAF, described it as an “MMO RTS project”.

No other details about the project have been revealed as yet.

Blizzard is typically known as a PC developer having developed hits like World of WarCraft, StarCraft and Overwatch. Another hugely successful title, CCG Hearthstone, was released across iOS, Android and PC.

While likely an independent project, Blizzard has access to plenty of mobile talent at King, now owned by Activision Blizzard. The Candy Crush Saga developer is currently working on a new Call of Duty game for mobile devices.

King, along with Activision Blizzard, was named in our Top 50 Developer 2017 list.
