GameAnalytics offers free tools for GameMaker Studio 2 devs

Mobvista-owned GameAnalytics has partnered with YoYo Games to integrate its free cross-platform analysis and reporting tools into GameMaker Studio 2.

The SDK can be used in games across all platforms, including mobile. The platform enables developers to monitor player behaviour and aims to help improve engagement and monetisation.

Free for all

“When it comes to app development, making data driven decisions is vital to your success. Whether you’re an indie or a large studio, games are no different,” said GameAnalytics CEO Jaco Els.

“The number one mistake they make is underestimating the importance of tracking data and reviewing analytics, particularly early on. If retention dips they often can’t pinpoint with absolute certainty which level is the cause.

“With GameAnalytics, you can pinpoint the level and even the exact obstacle causing players to churn. It really is an essential tool for anyone looking to refine their game and have the best possible chance for success - and it’s free for all.”

GameMaker Studio 2 was launched earlier this year and offers a number of enhancements on its predecessor.

We caught up with YoYo Games General Manager James Cox in August to discuss what’s new about the game engine and the indie games development scene.
