Steel Media, the company behind PocketGamer.biz, today announces the launch of InfluencerUpdate.biz, a website dedicated to journalism about, and resources for, those working in the burgeoning influencer marketing scene.
It joins Steel Media's existing three B2B sites PocketGamer.biz, PCGamesInsider.biz and TheVirtualReport.biz, but will extend beyond gaming and look at how influencers are changing the PR and marketing ecosystems across multiple verticals.
The site will be overseen by senior editor Craig Chapple and edited day-to-day by Danielle Partis. Writers on the site include veteran B2B journalist Stuart Dredge, and contributors Nina Cresswell and Ben Parfitt.
At launch, the site delivers daily news about online marketing campaigns, interviews with industry professionals, a list of 20 upcoming influencers to watch, a beginner's guide to influencer marketing, and more.
A searchable list of the most successful influencers is being constantly expanded. The site also benefits from a panel of ‘Viral Visionaries’, business insiders who contribute weekly thoughts and advice.
This advisory board includes leaders from Matchmade.tv, PocketWhale, Gameinfluencer.com, Flaregames, Spartan Elite, Keymailer, Yogscast, Facebook and more.
The site's launch partners are Matchmade.tv, Spartan Elite and GameInfluencer.com, who are contributing data for features as well as sponsorship.
CEO Chris James explained that the mission of InfluencerUpdate.biz is to build an information hub for the business of online influencers.
"We are bringing our full editorial experience and information-gathering skills to bear on this phenomenon," he said.
"We believe our articles will help decision-makers better unlock the potential of the online influencer scene. InfluencerUpdate.biz will educate and inform professionals about the new breed of social and video thought leaders, demystifying the landscape for those intending to get involved and providing useful insight and links to those who already are.
"The new website joins our successful portfolio of industry-facing brands, and will appeal to those working in marketing and PR, as well as to influencers themselves who want to discover the business opportunities available to them."
