Ad mediation outfit Appodeal has released a new e-book for developers which details the problems and solutions to launching an app or game for kids.
The 58-page e-book, called Launching Kids Apps The Right Way, covers everything from marketing the app to monetisation. It also provides checklists for developers to ensure their game meets COPPA standards.
The new e-book also ties in with the upcoming launch of Appodeal's Kids SDK, which makes sure games and apps are suitable for children. A waitlist for the SDK has already opened.
Protecting kids
"People generally develop apps for kids out of a desire to enrich kids' lives on one hand. On the other hand, developers still need to ensure there's a viable business model to sustain themselves," said Appodeal founder and CEO, Pavel Golubev.
"Earning a sustainable income from a kids app is especially challenging as it requires avoiding numerous minefields in place that rightfully protect kids."
Appodeal is the owner of development tool Corona following its acquisition of Corona Labs in March 2017. It made the tool free for all in June 2017.
