Weekly UK App Store charts: Sonic Forces: Speed Battle races to the top three

Each week app market intelligence firm Reflection, in partnership with Ukie, publish the top grossing and most downloaded games from the UK App Store.

So we’re sharing that data each week to give you an insight into how the UK mobile games market is evolving.

Speeding up

Sega HARDlight's latest game Sonic Forces: Speed Battle had an impressive first week on the download charts, launching straight to second place on iPad and third place on iPhone.

The iPhone download charts saw the most upsets, with five new entries jumping into the top ten ranks. That said, Voodoo's Dune! held firm at number one, and another of its games, new release Stack Jump, entered at second place.

There was also a resurgence in strategy games on iPhone, with both Clash of Clans and Lords Mobile recovering in the grossing charts. Supercell's title jumped four places to third, while IGG's entry leapt from 18th to 10th place.
