57% of mobile gamers are more likely to watch a rewarded video ad during the holiday season

57% of mobile gamers are more likely to watch a rewarded video ad during the holiday season than at other times in the year, according to Tapjoy.

The rewarded mobile ad platform has released its report on the "modern mobile gamer" entitled The Marketer's Guide to Holiday Gaming Trends. It surveyed 20,929 mobile game players in the US and EMEA during October 2017 to gather its data.

80% of those surveyed claimed they play games more often during the holiday season, while 30% of respondents said they play for an additional three hours or more each day. 11% of respondents claimed they would play for an additional five hours a day.

Plenty to play

72% of gamers surveyed said that they were planning to download at least one new game this holiday season, with 90% of these respondents stating that they will play games for at least an additional hour each day.

As for what kinds of games will be downloaded, Action, Logic/Quiz/Puzzle, and Adventure came out as the top choices of genre. Logic/Quiz/Puzzle games were favoured by female respondents, while Action was the choice of male respondents.

Those surveyed also stated that they are more likely to watch an ad or complete a survey to earn an -game reward. Movie trailers and ads for other games were the top choices for ads these gamers would like to see.
