Ubisoft's Hungry Shark series swaps seas for skies in recently soft-launched Hungry Dragon

Ubisoft appears to be pushing its Hungry Shark franchise beyond the sea with the soft-launched game Hungry Dragon.

The game was initially soft-launched on November 22nd on Android in the Philippines. It has so far not received any updates.

Hungry Dragon is mechanically very similar to the Hungry Shark series, with players navigating a 3D dragon around a 2D world to eat as much as it can before it dies. Since the player now controls a dragon, they can also breathe fire after building up a special bar.

Breath of fire

Interestingly, there doesn't appear to be any Future Games of London branding in the game, despite the studio typically being in charge of the Hungry Shark franchise. This could imply that a different Ubisoft studio is handling development for Hungry Dragon.

Future Games of London has been relatively quiet since the launch of Hungry Shark World. The game scored 10 million downloads six days after it first launched back in May 2016.
