PG Connects Advent Day 19: How to get into PGC London 2018 for free

Step-by-step guide to transaction-less conference access for independent developers

PG Connects Advent Day 19: How to get into PGC London 2018 for free

We're running a 'PGC London 2018 Advent Calendar' throughout December. Every day, an informative conference-related update full of 'circus of values'.

The biggest and best PG Connects London is now just weeks away (January 22nd to 23rd). It'll bring some 2,000 professionals from all around the world and all across the mobile, PC and XR games industry to The Brewery to share their insight, show off their latest games, network like crazy, and generally do business.

The conference will include top international publishers, investors, media, and influencers, and we have a free meeting system, multiple pitch events (see below), and even publisher speed-dating and investor matchmaking sessions – all of which make it an ideal place for an indie developer to show off their latest creations, get attention, and maybe a publishing/investment deal.

As always we have discounted ticket and great value expo options on offer for indie studios. But times are hard, Brexit is a mess, and no-one still knows if Elvis is truly dead.

So we've come up with a couple of (legal) ways indies can get into the conference for free.

Pitch perfect

Got a game you're working on or have just finished? Then consider entering our Very Big Indie Pitch competition (or its PC and XR brethren). Shortlisted entries get two free passes to the event and the five finalists that go through to Day 2 spend that time showcasing to the conference delegates.

Oh, and every confirmed team gets real-time feedback from the media and industry judges, while the three winning studios go on to share a promotional prize package worth $7,000.

Compo-tastic

If live competition isn't your thing, how about old school lottery style action? Over the Christmas period we're offering a very limited allocation of free Indie Showcase tables + 2 conference tickets (worth c.£500+VAT) within our lively expo area. No catch, but you do have to enter your details in the application form before Wednesday January 3.

The winners will then be chosen at random (after we've ensured every entrant qualifies as an indie) and contacted with the necessary details. Boom.

Not an indie but still reading? Bless your commitment. Would you kindly consider a 10% discount on all standard tickets (use code PGBIZ10)?
