Paradox Interactive CEO Fredrik Wester to step down after nine years

Paradox Interactive has announced that its CEO Fredrik Wester is stepping down from the role after nearly nine years in charge.

Wester will continue to work full-time at Paradox as the executive chairman of the board. Current chairman Håkan Sjunnesson will step aside and take on the role of deputy chairman.

Replacing Wester will be Ebba Ljungerud, the current chief commercial officer of the Kindred Group. She has also served on the board of directors at Paradox since August 2014.

Eager to continue

"Paradox is an amazing company and I have had the privilege to work not only with Fredrik and the rest of board but also with the management team and key people in the organisation," said Ljungerud.

"This, combined with my experiences of leading and developing fast-growing companies, makes me eager to continue bringing Paradox forth on our planned journey."

Paradox has started to step up its efforts in mobile following the launch of Prison Architect Mobile. It opened a development studio in Malmö in May 2017 specifically to work on new mobile games.
