Chinese publishing giant Tencent’s mobile version of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds has now fully launched in America and Canada on iOS and Android.
PUBG Corp took to Twitter to announce the game's launch along with the news that the mobile port will be releasing in various other regions at a later date yet to be announced.
The western title seems locked in as Playerunkown’s Battlegrounds Mobile, which sets it apart from the Chinese releases of PUBG: Exhilarating Battlefield and PUBG: Army Attack. PUBG Mobile also appears to be a version of Exhilarating Battlefield, which is a more faithful port of the PC version.
Sneak attack
The latest PUBG port initially touched down in Canada with a surprise soft launch late last week.
News originally broke of PUBG coming to mobile last November, shortly after Tencent and PUBG Corp partnered up to publish the game in China.
PUBG: Exhilarating Battlefield and PUBG: Army Attack was subsequently released in China on February 9th and was quick to make a splash. The pair of battle royale titles were the two most downloaded apps worldwide on the iOS App Store in the days following their launch despite only being released in China.
