PG Connects Helsinki 2018 – the biggest, best and most diverse yet

Now into its fifth year, Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki is inarguably THE largest B2B games event in Finland.

It’s growing bigger and better every time and the 2018 outing will be no exception, drawing more than 1,200 delegates from more than 600 companies to enjoy over 120 speakers across 14 tracks over two packed days!

As usual, the mobile games industry will be the driving force of the event with the biggest speakers exploring the most crucial issues over multiple tracks: user acquisition, monetisation, live ops, international publishing opportunities and key industry trends.

Our expanded Developer Toolkit section offers a deeper dive into game development techniques, while there’s a dedicated day of talks aimed purely at Indies, new and smaller studios, backed up by our usual indie pitch competition and speed match sessions connecting game makers with publishers, press and platforms.

Held at Helsinki’s Scandic Marina Congress Center for the two days of September 11th to 12th, Super Early Bird prices are still available, but don’t wait too long - prices rise soon! Book now!

Dynamic games industry

Of course the games industry isn’t standing still – in fact, it’s probably the most dynamic in living memory with fresh opportunities and challenges appearing every day. So we’ll cover as many of these as we can with dedicated tracks and talks on influencers, esports, AI, Instant Messenger games and cloud gaming among others.

We’ll also have a packed expo, a game jam, multiple Big Indie Pitch events for PC and mobile, the finale of a blockchain developer contest, workshops and of course our infamous Global Connects party.

More than mobile

The show isn’t just for mobile developers; you’ll also find a wealth of content for PC, Nintendo Switch, VR and AR and XR platforms will all be thrown into the limelight across the various talks, especially in our new Connects X track that’s focused explicitly on different platform opportunities.

While much of the advice on our tracks is applicable to all developers, there are some format specific issues. That’s what our Connects X track is for, with tracks and talks exploring platforms including PC, Switch, Cloud gaming and XR.

Blockchain Gamer Connects

New for 2018 and hot from its debut in San Francisco this summer, Blockchain Gamer Connects is co-located with Pocket Gamer Connects - and your ticket grants you access to both shows!

Over two days, we’ll bring you four tracks aiming to introduce the core technology and terms, illustrate how companies are able to raise money and monetise games, explore the particular issues of game design showcasing some of the best titles live or in production, and finally look at to the potential opportunities ahead.

Helsinki is also the venue for the final of the Alto Crypto Gaming Challenge powered by BlockchainGamer.biz. The finalists will compete for their share of a prize pool worth $150,000.
