King enters the social casino space with Royal Charm Slots

Candy Crush Saga developer King has made its first foray into the social casino games market on mobile with the launch of Royal Charm Slots.

Developed with social casino games specialist Playstudios, the title lets players bet virtual money on in-game slot machines. Coins can be won through the games or purchased as an IAP.

Slotting right in

Royal Charm Slots features King's trademark colourful art style, with a host of characters specifically designed for the game.

It also includes a host of collectables and boosters to keep players entertained.

The game was initially soft-launched on Android in Malaysia on August 31st 2017 for a period of testing.

It’s a significant release for King as it looks to expand its portfolio with lucrative new titles and marks a departure from its casual gaming portfolio.

The publisher has been making efforts to also break into the midcore space, but has thus far failed to make its mark in this area. The company is however working on a new Call of Duty title mobile game that could well change its fortunes in the space.
