Dead Trigger 2 lands a direct hit on 100 million downloads

Czech studio Madfinger Games' undead-shooting sequel Dead Trigger 2 has achieved 100 million downloads.

Released in 2013, Dead Trigger 2 is still performing well for the studio five years on. The game continues to receive support through weekly events and Madfinger notes that a “big update” is currently in development.

The 100 million download milestone marks the first-person shooter as Madfinger’s most successful title to date in terms of downloads.

Quality control

“I would like to personally thank all 100 million Dead Trigger 2 players who have shown their support and love for this game,” said Madfinger CEO and creative director Marek Rabas.

“Most of the success was achieved because the game was something mobile players experienced for the first time ever - console-quality graphics and smooth controls.”

Madfinger places a lot of emphasis on the game's visual and mechanical quality accounting for its success.

Speaking to us in 2016, Rabas said that Dead Trigger 2 had found a strong audience on mobile by offering a high-quality "hardcore" experience.

"The fact that we have cutting-edge graphics is great because it serves as a user acquisition tool over a long period," he said at the time.

"In other words, the game has aged very well and is still attractive to new players."
