All things Trade Trends at Pocket Gamer Connect Helsinki

Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki is days away from touching down in Finland and will last from September 11th to 12th.

To tee things off we’ve been taking a peek at what’s in store with our numerous tracks.

Today we’re keeping up with the Trade Trends track, as a keen eye and an ability to stay ahead of the curve is paramount to taking that next step to success.

To help you out, we’ve rounded up some of the mobile industries most savvy movers and shakers to fill you in on what they’re doing to do just that.

September 11th

09:20 – Kicking things off is not one, but two speakers in a Superstar Session. Ogury publisher development director Romain Escaich and IsCool CEO Hadrien Des Rotours will delve into how to move from a small indie to an established publisher.

10:00 – Next up is mobile industry veteran and our Pecha Kucha host Wilhelm Taht with some perspective over how the scene went from Snake to a $50 billion industry in 20 years.

10:20 – Our third Superstar Session of the track features Vlambeer founder Rami Ismail, who will fill us in on what devs should expect to happen to the games development landscape.

10:40 – Next up RocketJump founder Louis-René Auclair will deliver a talk on working with licenses.

From the deal terms to production and launch, Auclair will review some of the most important points to consider.

11:00 – Rolling on SEB Equity Research Analyst Veli-Pekka Puolakanaho will delve into how to effectively communicate and interact with money managers.

11:20 – Nordic Games Resources managing director Erik Robertson will deliver a talk on venture capital and other investments that may be of interest for Nordic games developers.

Our 12 tracks in full

11:40 - Jam City VP Jeremy Horn will give some perspective on how the games developer went from a casual publisher to a mid-core player, alongside what it’s doing right now to expand.

12:00 – Futureplay CEO Jami Laes will show off an inside view into the process and development of Battlelands Royale.

Laes will also share what is the studio’s approach to product strategy, market analysis and its culture that enables both top-down and bottoms-up product development.

12:20 – Finishing us off for the track is a panel on social games trends, from casino to casual. Taking to the stage will be Veikkaus game producer Karoliina Korppoo, Flaregames head of product Antubel Moreda, Megacool co-founder Aurora Klaeboe Berg and KamaGames director of global communications and content Sam Forrest.

And that’ll wrap up the track for this year. However, those nine talks make up just one track out of 12 the show will have on offer. Which include our Indie Track, Esports Academy and the Game Changers track, the latter of which will take a close look at chat app gaming and hyper-casual.

To find out more about the fantastic speaker roster, you can check out the full schedule – and keep an eye out for the latest additions and updates in the run-up to the show.

There is also still time to register, which you can do here.
