Next Games’ augmented reality zombie title The Walking Dead: Our World has hit revenues of $8 million in just under two months.

That’s according to Sensor Tower, which reports that the mobile tie-in has been installed almost 1.7 million times.

40 per cent of the game’s revenue comes from the United States. Germany is Our World’s second-most-popular region, accounting for 14 per cent of total revenue.

Prior to the title's release, the Finnish developer reported a 46 per cent drop in revenue year-on-year this July - almost $10 million down.

That fall was attributed to the studio buckling down to develop Our World and a Blade Runner 2049 licensed title. Next Games seemed unphased by this slow-down, however.

“The first half of 2018, Next Games has focused on preparing for new game launches,” said Next Games CEO Teemu Huuhtanen at the time.

“I firmly believe team Next Games has succeeded in creating a robust foundation for our future.”
