The future of monetisation: Inside the Monetiser track at Pocket Gamer Connects Seattle

With two weeks to go until Pocket Gamer Connects Seattle commences on May 13th and runs to the 14th, we’re taking the opportunity to highlight the 10 tracks on offer at the event (plus there's also four tracks over on PC Connects).

In the build-up, we will be looking at one specific track daily to give you a better idea of what to expect.

Today we’re looking at the Monetiser track, which will be identifying the hottest trends in the marketing and monetisation landscape while capturing the latest data in mobile advertising, IAPS and ‘must knows’ in the industry.

These sessions are perfect for any business-focused mobile games developers to help gain a better understanding of the market. The Monetiser track is sponsored by Vungle.

May 13th

14:00 - Starting the day’s proceedings, Vungle performance optimisation lead Rina Matsumoto will host a talk on which mobile fraud solution is right for you.

14:20 - CEO of crowdfunding esports platform Matcherino, John Maffei, will then take the stage to discuss his experience with monetisation in esports. Maffei possesses 20 years of executive experience from high-profile internet and mobile companies.

14:40 - Fundamentally Games co-founder and PGC regular Oscar Clark shall then host a session on barebones monetisation design, pulling from his 21-year knowledge in the games industry and his book on “Games As A Service”.

15:00 - The first panel will be held by Wappier vice president of business development Ted Verani, where designing games for maximum monetisation will be the hot topic. Verani has held numerous leadership roles at Scientific Revenue, Trilibis Mobile, Enpocket, Jumbuck, AirTouch and Vodafone.

16:20 - Interested in player retention and what pitfalls to avoid? Well, 12traits co-founder and CEO Joe Schaeppi is set to discuss all of this in his ‘hyper-personalisation fueled by psychometrics’ session.

16:40 - Closing out the day, Vungle head of supply sales Matthew Taylor, Quorum CMO Stephanie Mello and Nordeus business development manager Božo Janković will be part of a panel debating ad monetisation, IAP, subscription models and the future of monetisation as a whole.
