Research In Motion he is preparing to launch a new portal for European independent developers to submit applications to its online digital distribution network, BlackBerry App World.
Version 1.1 will be available to BlackBerry smartphone users in France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Austria, Luxembourg, Republic of Ireland, Belgium, Portugal, the Netherlands and the Channel Islands from 31 July 2009.
Alongside this massive expansion of the company's app store, the service will be available in a number of different languages including English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.
Developers will be able to submit multiple versions of their applications in different languages and for different devices, as well as entering localised descriptions, selecting available countries and receiving reports on a country-by-country basis.
