Yes, there was much joy at the Pocket Gamer ChinaJoy 2013 party
Is there any games event anywhere in the world that doesn't have a Pocket Gamer party?

Maybe a couple, but we've scratched another big name from our to-do list with our first networking drinks party at the ChinaJoy conference in Shanghai.

Together with local organisers Umeng - providing app analytics for Chinese developers - and cloud services company Ucloud, we took over Kathleen's 5, the bar at the top of the Shanghai Art Gallery.

As usual, hundreds of people arrived, queued for a bit and then had the opportunity to wear funny hats, get their picture taken, and tackle some well-deserved drinks after a day of conferencing, while networking furiously with the everyone from major CEOs and SVPs to the young guns who are kickstarting the next hot gaming start up.
