EA Mobile grabs Namco Europe distribution
The world's largest mobile publisher got a bit bigger today thanks to the news that EA Mobile has signed a distribution deal with Namco Bandai Networks Europe.

The deal was rumoured yesterday with the news filtering out that Namco Europe was scaling back operations.

It grants EA Mobile the rights to publish existing and upcoming Namco Bandai titles such as Ridge Racer Drift and Time Crisis Elite across Europe, Russia, India, Latin America, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.

Namco Bandai's North American operations remain unaffected, as will its iPhone publishing, which is handled via the US office.

The company will also continue to handle its own mobile distribution for its online store and via other application stores.

The deal will start 1st November 2009.

"We look forward to working with Namco Bandai, who have produced some of the world's most iconic video game brands such as Pac-Man", said Luca Pagano, EA Mobile Europe's veep of publishing.

"With this agreement, EA Mobile will complement our rich portfolio with classic, arcade-style properties that are sure to appeal to mobile gamers around the globe."

Barry O'Neill, president, Namco Bandai Networks Europe added, "EA has consistently demonstrated that it is the leading distributor of mobile games globally. Namco Bandai is delighted to be working with EA Mobile, and we feel that this new distribution relationship will benefit a much broader base of customers, while allowing us to focus on the development of great new games for all mobile platforms."
