Flurry raises $15 million in Series C funding round

AppCircle discovery tool set for expansion

Flurry raises $15 million in Series C funding round
Back in the summer, mobile analytics firm Flurry launched its AppCircle network, which serves as a discovery and recommendation tool for iOS and Android users.

By analysing the Flurry-supported applications that the end-user already has on its phone, AppCircle can intelligently recommend similar apps and drive extra revenue to the development community.

Flurry has revealed that 30 million unique users have viewed an AppCircle app recommendation, generating millions of downloads for the developers signed up to the service.

Ker-ching

To help accelerate AppCircle’s growth and to further expand its sales and marketing operations, the company announced it has raised $15 million in a Series C funding round.

The round was led by Menlo Ventures, whose MD Sonja Hoel Perkins joins Flurry’s board of directors as part of the investment, with participation from existing investors Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Interwest, First Round Capital, and Union Square Ventures.

“The addition of Menlo Ventures builds on the strength of our existing investors, and our goal of powering the businesses of tens of thousands of application developers serving hundreds of millions of consumers in the explosively growing mobile application market,” said Simon Khalaf, president and CEO of Flurry.

Flurry also disclosed that in November, it measured 5 billion anonymous, aggregated end-user sessions from over 100 million unique devices for a total of more than 35 billion data transactions. Phew.
