Gameloft has announced its financials for the third quarter, revealing sales of 26.2 million (around $33.45 million). That's 8 per cent growth compared to Q3 2007's figure of 24.4 million.
The publisher is keener to tout its consolidated sales of 76.5 million (about $97.73 million) for the first three quarters of 2008, up 9 per cent year-on-year, although Gameloft says this is 16 per cent on a comparable exchange rate basis.
The publisher's mobile business accounted for 98 per cent of its third-quarter sales, with the remaining 2 per cent coming from its console activities on DS, Xbox Live Arcade and WiiWare. In Q2, console accounted for 6 per cent of the publisher's revenues.
Europe accounted for 41 per cent of Gameloft's Q3 revenues this year, with North America generating 31 per cent and the rest of the world 28 per cent. That compares to 44 per cent, 29 per cent and 28 per cent respectively in the first half of this year.
The publisher says its growth in North America in Q3 was particularly strong thanks to strong sales of its iPhone games.
Gameloft says it expects significant growth in the fourth quarter of this year thanks to its lineup for iPhone, N-Gage, DS and Wii. The publisher says it expects to reach its annual financial objectives as a result of these platforms.
However, Gameloft's Q3 revenues of $33.45 million compare to EA Mobile's (announced last week) of $47 million.
Stand by for an interview later today with Gameloft CFO Alexandre de Rochefort who'll be talking about all of the above.
