Newlyweds: Puzzle & Dragons calls on Clash of Clans for second special event

Puzzle & Dragons developer GungHo Online has unveiled its second collaborative in-game event with Clash of Clans dev Supercell just days after it acquired a 20 percent stake in the Finnish studio.

Like the earlier cross-promotion between games, the event will see a Clash of Clans-themed dungeon brought to the match-three world of Puzzle & Dragons.

The collaboration also marks the first formal in-game tie-in between GungHo and Supercell since the deal, with even closer ties between the two developers in the months and years ahead looking likely.

Clashing to the top

Said promotion could also prove to be rather timely for GungHo.

The latest numbers suggest Puzzle & Dragons’ growth is slowing in its native country of Japan, and the surging Asian interest in Clash of Clans might just be the infusion of excitement that GungHo needs to reinvigorate its playerbase.

As with the earlier promotion, this in-game dungeon is only available for a limited time - 21 October to 27 October.
