Smaato releases new iPhone and Android SDKs

SOMA ad network expands with new US partnership

Smaato releases new iPhone and Android SDKs
Mobile advertising firm Smaato has announced it's launching two new SDKs for its SOMA platform, supporting iPhone and Android handsets.

Android has recently enjoyed what Smaato describes as a "significant uptake" in click-through rates according to the company's own metrics report for January.

Its new SOMA (Smaato Open Mobile Advertising) SDK for Android will grant access to Smaato's 35 mobile ad networks, serving display ads both apps and mobile websites.

Bigger network, better tools

Keen to generate interest, Smaato is set to enhance its upcoming releases of both SDKs and the SOMA mobile web API with what is describes as a "free analytics and reporting dashboard".

The company claims this will visualise usage data on the platform, helping studios keep track of their advertising revenues.

Smaato has also signed a deal with its 35th partner, New York-based media buying plaform adsmobi.

The deal allows adsmobi to utilise SOMA in its work with advertisers and media agencies. It's all part of Smaato's attempt to broaden the contacts in its network and bolster the SOMA platform.

"Smaato is strengthening its mobile advertising technology and adding more partnerships with ad network partners of the SOMA optimisation and mediation platform," the company said in a statement.

"More targeting data, better forecasting tools and media buying features will be made available in future SOMA platform releases in order to enhance the value for ad networks partners worldwide."
