Find the right publisher, says Johary Mustapha

How to get your game published in Southeast Asia

At Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki 2016, Johary Mustapha, CEO of Forest Interactive, gave a talk on how to get your game published in the Southeast Asia market.

He started by talking about SEA in general, mentioning that the region has around 720 million mobile users, with markets such as Singapore and the Philippines.

Trial and error

"In general there's about 10 to 15 indie games publishers in the region," said Mustapha, and these publishers are "doing a lot of a trial and error" in the market while it emerges.

In terms of actually choosing which partner to work with, he recommends making sure your game works with the publisher's portfolio and looking at whether you can maintain a good relationship with them.
