How to maximise organic downloads for your mobile game

As part of Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki 2016, Mike Hines, Developer Evangelist at Amazon, gave a talk on how to maximise your organic downloads.

He started with some "sneaky tips" that might work for developers, including misleading players, faking celebrity endorsement and bribing players into good reviews.

Just kidding!

On a serious note, Hines stated that getting the right name for your game is important "because your app name is going to be indexed" and you need your app to be shown to your target audience.

"You've got about three-quarters of a second for them to look at your app and your title name," he stated, suggesting you also need to make your icon perfect in order to capture a player's attention.
