Korean publisher Gamevil has underlined the importance of the wider Asian market with the opening of Gamevil Southeast Asia.

Based in Singapore, the office will also handle the company's operations in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

Operations will be facilitated by Gamevil's ongoing partnership with local content provider and publisher 8elements, which has been delivering it with regional communications and localisation support.

Increased reach

The move follows on from Gamevil's Tokyo office, which was opened in 2011, and Beijing in 2013.

The MD for the new office is Joerg Tente who called the opening "a significant step for Gamevil to increase its global reach and Asia Pacific footprint, which is decisive for developer partners and for the huge player base in the region."

He added, "We can build upon the company's excellent reputation and grow off of fully localized products and services. Gamers in Southeast Asia can expect some stunning things to come their way."
