Summoners War leads Com2uS into a record $27 million profit quarter

Korean mobile game publisher Com2uS (KOSDAQ:078340) has announced its FY2015 Q3 financials, for the three months ending 30 September 2015.

Sales were another record at $97 million (115 billion KRW), up 6% quarter-on-quarter, and 110% year-on-year.

Profits were up 2% compared to Q2 to $27 million (32 billion KRW).

As has been the case throughout 2015, it was the global success of F2P RPG Summoners War - which has now notched up 50 million downloads - which was the engine for this financial performance.

Indeed, international sales now account for 85% of Com2uS' sales.

Previously the company was highly focused on its domestic Korean market.

More for 2015

This international success has come as Com2uS has invested heavily in marketing Summoners War, both in North America and Europe.

From a low base, the company has also pointed to "strong signs of growth in Southeast Asia and South America".

Looking to the future, Com2uS says it has a number of new titles ready for release, including new RPG Wonder Tactics, casual baseball title Homerun Battle 3, and mini game collection Action Puzzle Town.

"We're committed to using our experience and industry know-how to continue pushing out more global hit titles," says Casey Lee, Head of Com2us USA.

"We're looking forward to more success with what we have coming up in our pipeline and closing out another stellar year for Com2us."
