Tencent's Honor of Kings surpasses 50 million DAUs in 14 months

Tencent's mobile MOBA Honor of Kings has amassed 50 million daily active users since launching in November 2015.

The game is estimated to have grown at a rate of roughly five million DAUs a month since launch. Almost all of these DAUs are in China.

It has also achieved over 200 million downloads overall. According to analyst firm Niko Partners, players spend $6 a month on average in the game and play for six hours a week.

More kings to come

Honor of Kings is predicted to continue growing through 2017 and reach 70 million DAUs. A version of the game is planned for release in South Korea in the next year.

The game has been particularly important to Tencent's business since it launched and helped boost the company's mobile games revenues to approximately $1.44 billion in its Q3 FY16 financials.
