Tencent's hugely-popular mobile MOBA Honor of Kings is finally making its way West under the new name of Strike of Kings.
The game is currently available in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. It was first launched on February 20th 2017.
Feels familiar
It appears to remain unchanged from its China release, featuring up to 5v5 PvP battles across three lanes. It is very similar to popular PC MOBA League of Legends, developed by Tencent-owned Riot Games.
To appeal to a Western audience, Tencent has partnered with DC Comics to bring in superheroes to the game. Batman is already confirmed to be joining the game's lineup of heroes.
Honor of Kings remains a strong performer for Tencent and has shown potential to be a mobile eSport. It surpassed 50 million DAUs in January 2017 and was pointed to by the developer as one of its key drivers of revenue in its Q4 FY16 financials.
