DeNA has released its financials for the full year of its FY17 ending March 31st 2016.

It saw revenues of $1.26 billion for the year, up just 0.1% year-on-year. Profits grew to $282.9 million, up an impressive 171.1% year-on-year.

Revenues for its Games Business segment, which includes it mobile games, came to $891.5 million, down 7.5% year-on-year. Profits for the division increased to $248.5 million, up 9.1% year-on-year.

Beyond Nintendo

While it didn't give any specific numbers, DeNA did note that Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes had helped boost consumption of virtual currency in its games. This was also helped by a strong performance of its other titles in Japan.

Looking ahead, the developer will continue to release games with Nintendo and work on its own domestic games. It is also looking to collaborate with other partners, including IP holders in China.

Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes are said to have generated $150 million for Nintendo between them so far, but Nintendo hasn't been particularly excited about either's performance.
