Handmark launching Windows Mobile app store

Way ahead of Microsoft
Handmark launching Windows Mobile app store

A short while ago we took a look at the new white label applications store system from Handmark, which the company now appears to be putting to use itself.

According to mocoNews, Handmark is planning to launch a storefront called HandMarket Apps to provide over 50,000 games, applications, wallpapers and ringtones to Windows Mobile users.

The system will support credit card payments and direct carrier billing, and will work on Windows Mobile 6.0 (and higher) handsets. This is something of a double whammy, as Handmark will not only be beating Microsoft to the punch on a Windows Mobile app store, but the official Windows Mobile Marketplace will only work on 6.5 at launch.

HandMarket Apps is expected to be rolled out later this year. We'll bring you more news as it comes in.
