Gamevil says Android game sales have been better than expected

Alongside publishers such as Gameloft and Com2uS, Korean company Gamevil has been one of the strongest supporters of gaming on Android devices.

Already having released key titles such as RPG Zenonia, it's just released Baseball Superstars 2010, its second version of the franchise, onto the Android Market.

Priced at $5.99, compared to $4.99 for the iPhone version, the game will support HVGA and WVGA screen resolutions and will be widely available for all devices running Android OS 1.5 and above.

Hitting a home run

"Baseball Superstars has been the top selling sports franchise on the Android Market ever since its launch and we're thrilled to release its sequel," said Kyu Lee, head of Gamevil USA.

"We're confident that our users will enjoy the enhancements included within this year's version as Gamevil continues multi-platform support with Android."

Lee didn't give any precise figures concerning how well Gamevil titles had performed on the Android Market, although he did say sales had been better than the company had expected.
