• ARM is the leader in mobile technology, with their CPU architecture present in over 95% of all mobile devices and the #1 Android GPU IP.

• ARM understands that as PC and console graphics evolve, consumer expectations for game graphics on mobile devices increase.

• The development of visually exciting games for mobile platforms is challenging. Power, bandwidth and thermal limitations can hold back inexperienced developers and new features are constantly emerging such as 64-bit, multi-core programming and updated APIs. However, there are ways of delivering AAA games within these constraints.

• To help developers meet the growing consumer demand and address the challenges of mobile platforms, ARM provides a range of developer education activities and resources, including events such as ARM Developer Days and tutorials on the ARM Mali Developer Center (http://malideveloper.arm.com/develop-for-mali/tutorials-developer-guides/).

• This event is targeted at experienced developers who want to get the most out of the hardware platform, gain advanced optimization insights and learn sophisticated techniques for producing exciting and efficient graphics on mobile devices.

Attendees will walk away with knowledge of the following:

  • Techniques for multicore programming, including big.LITTLE technology (as seen in e.g. the Samsung Exynos 5430) and ARM NEON tech
  • Which tools and tech are available for 64-bit app development
  • OpenGL ES API extensions which will help developers get the most out of the specific features of ARM Mali GPUs
  • How to use ARM DS-5 Streamline and the Mali Graphics Debugger to analyze what your application is doing and locate specific areas of code that need improvement
  • How to use ASTC to bring flexibility, efficiency and control to the development process
  • Best practises using the latest GLES3.1 API, including SSBOs, draw indirect and compute shaders

Other benefits include:

  • An opportunity to bring your latest projects with you and have a 1-1 discussion with ARM experts who will help you address any challenges you are facing and generate ideas for improvements
  • Networking with local game developers and ARM engineers
  • Free food and drink
  • A giveaway
