Vungle looks to triple staff in 2014; appoints Ville Heijari to head Europe

With video advertising continuing to be the core driver for high value inventory in the mobile industry, expansion is key for vendor Vungle.

So after launching its new exchange to boost reach, it's matching it with physical expansion.

It plans to triple in size by the end of 2014, including a new office in Asia.

It's also reinforcing its fast-growing European operations with the appointment of ex-Rovio and Upsight executive Ville Heijari.

Vungle's the ticket

"We're excited about Ville joining the Vungle team, as his experience will be invaluable in accelerating our European operations on the heels of the launch of Vungle Exchange - our patent-pending technology and the first-ever exchange exclusively for in-app video ads," said CEO, Zain Jaffer.

Vungle ads are now in more than 5,000 different apps and more than 100 million people worldwide see a Vungle ad every month.

"I was attracted to Vungle because of the company's commitment to the user experience, and its vision for bringing TV ad experiences into apps," said Heijari, who takes the job title Head of Supply, Europe at the company's Berlin office.
