Apple adds Games Manager job to 2 existing App Store game positions

Whether Apple is just cycling through the usual churn of employees or whether a more dedicated hiring pushis underway is unclear, but Apple's Cupertino CA HQ currently has three open positions associated with the curation of games on the App Store.

The most recent opening is for a Games App Store Manager.

The role involves working with developers to help them find success in the rankings, as well as using developer feedback to help improve the store.

With a minimum of five years relevant experience in the gaming industry, Apple says it’s looking for a “Results oriented, and motivated self-starter with a strong desire to learn and be successful.”

There’s also an opening for an Editor, Games for the App Store - that is, the person responsible for choosing which apps get promoted and discovered on Apple’s virtual shelves.

“Critical to this position are the editorial savvy, pop culture awareness and technical know-how to find great new games, which best express the App Store's editorial voice and Apple brand,” reads the job description.

Other pre-requisites include over 2 years of experience in the games industry, familiarity with app game review sites and blogs and excellent understanding of Apple’s gaming platforms.
