Stonetrip adds Android support to ShiVa game engine

Thanks to the availability of Unity3d, Airplay and maybe even Unreal Engine 3, game development tools and engines are becoming a much more important part of the mobile space.

Now French company Stonetrip has announced its ShiVa3D technology, which was previously limited to web, PC, Mac, Linux and iPhone, now supports Android.

Currently available in beta form - called Android Authoring Tool 1.0 beta 1 - it's only available for Mac OS X developers, with Windows and Linux support to be added in future.

ShiVa includes a 3D game engine, as well as other tools such as an integrated editor, asset import channels, scripting, animation and the ODE physics engine.

The SDK is free but the editor is priced at between €169 to €1,499 depending on features. Additional support and server options are also paid for services.

You can download the Android beta here.
